How to get started

Getting started is simple. There’s no cost for qualifying students, and no prior chess experience is necessary.

  1. Reach out through our contact page.
Tell us a little about yourself, where you’re located, and whether you’d prefer in-person or online lessons.
  2. We’ll match you to a time and format.
Ben or another coach will follow up to find a time and place (or chess.com setup) that works for you.
  3. Show up and play.
We’ll start with basics (how the pieces move) and move toward tactics, strategy, and game analysis at your pace. Advanced students are also welcome - we will Meet you at your current skill level.
